Signing Up and Getting Started

How do I create a NaskMe account?

Download the NaskMe app for free from the App or Google Play Store. Once you download the app, tap the Facebook or Google icon to create an account or enter your email and create a unique password. NaskMe sends you an authorization code via text message to verify your mobile phone and to create your account.

How do I create and update my Profile?

Create or update your profile by tapping the three-line icon in the upper left-hand corner of the To Do List screen, then tap the Profile picture or Edit Profile.

I can’t sign up for NaskMe because an account with my email address or phone number already exists.

If you typed your email address and phone number correctly and are unable to create an account, contact NaskMe at customerservice@nask.me.

I received a text message saying I was invited to set up a NaskMe account. Why did I receive this?

A friend, family member or teammate invited you to join NaskMe, or they sent you a task or an invitation to join a NaskMe Group.

Account Details

Where are my account details?

Account details are in the Profile menu. Account details include Profile, Payment Services, Contacts, Completed Lists and Tasks, Blocked Users, Help and About.

When does NaskMe send Push Notifications?

NaskMe sends Push Notifications when a List is shared with you, when a Task is assigned to you, when a Task is completed, when you are invited to join a Group and when you have a new Message.

I am not receiving Push Notifications even after I turned them on.

Double-check Notifications in your phone’s Settings to make sure they are turned on for NaskMe.

When does NaskMe send text messages?

NaskMe only sends text messages when you invite your friends.

How do I save NaskMe photos to my phone?

Photos taken with your Camera in NaskMe are not saved to your Photo Gallery.

Adding and Editing Lists and Tasks

How do I create a List or Task?

Create a List or Task by tapping + New To Do on the To Do List screen. Then just start typing your List or Task. Once you type a Task, tap Save if you do not want to add more items or tap the chevron on the right side of the Task to add details to your Task.

If you want to add more items and Create a List, tap Next, and a List is created when you add your second List item.

How do I add details to a List?

Tap the Share+ icon in the upper right-hand corner of a List. You can then add a note to whomever receives the List, make the List shareable by anyone who receives the List, share the List with friends, add a due date, add a location and add a photo. Once you’re done, tap Save and Share to return to the To Do List screen.

How do I add details to a Task?

Tap the chevron to the right of a Task to assign the Task to someone, add a due date, add a location and add an amount if the Task has a related payment. You can also export the task to your phone’s Calendar or add a photo. Once you’re done, tap the X in the upper left-hand corner.

What if I send a List or Task to someone who does not have a NaskMe account?

If a person you assigned a Task or sent a List to does not have a NaskMe account, (s)he receives an invitation to join NaskMe and, once the app is installed, (s)he receives a notification you sent them a Task or List.

What if someone does not accept the Task I sent them?

If you assign a Task, and it’s not accepted, the Task will not appear on the person’s To Do List screen. You receive a Notification informing you the person declined your Task, and the Task remains on your To Do List screen until you complete or remove it.

Can I sort Lists and Tasks on my To Do List screen?

Yes. Sort Lists and Tasks by tapping the three-button icon in the upper right-hand corner, then filter by Group, Date, Messages, Assigned to Me, Created by Me and Past Due.

What if I do not save a List or Task I attempted to create?

For a single Task, you are prompted to save or cancel before leaving the Add screen. If you choose cancel, your Task is not saved. NaskMe uses auto-save for Lists.

Can I create a Task and later add someone to complete it?

Yes. Just open the Task and tap Add a Contact or Group to assign the Task.

What if someone initially accepts a Task and later deletes it?

If a Task is accepted and later deleted prior to the due date, it will no longer appear on the person’s To Do List screen. You will receive a Notification informing you the person deleted your Task request, and the Task will remain on your To Do List screen until you complete or remove it.

How can I see Tasks I completed?

Completed Tasks are located in the Profile menu.

Sharing Lists and Grabbing Tasks

How do I share a List?

Once you create a List, tap the Share+ icon in the upper right-hand corner of a List. Then, tap the Add Friends icon, and you will be able to add any Group or Contact to receive the List. By tapping Save and Share, your list will be shared, and you return to the To Do List Screen.

Are Lists Shareable with anyone?

Yes. By default, any recipient of your List can then reshare the List to another user. If you wish to share a List only with your intended recipients, slide the Anyone Can Share icon to off on the Share+ screen prior to sharing the List.

How do I edit an existing List?

To edit an existing List, open the List, make your edits and tap the back arrow. Your changes are automatically saved and seen by anyone with whom the List is shared.

How do I grab a Task to complete from a List?

Once a List has been shared with you, grab a Task by swiping left on the Task and tapping Grab. You can also open the Task you wish to grab and tap Grab It, and you will be assigned the Task.

Shopping with NaskMe

How do I shop with NaskMe?

Shopping with NaskMe is the easiest way to complete one of your Tasks. Tap the Buy it Now button on any Task, and NaskMe will launch a search on the web’s largest retailer to return a list of products applicable to your Task. Shop as you normally would to complete your Task.

Who is responsible for purchases made through NaskMe?

Your purchases through NaskMe are your sole responsibility.

When do I authorize payment for an item once I buy it?

Payments for purchases after tapping the Buy it Now button are completed on the terms and conditions set by the provider from which you are making the purchase.

Does NaskMe store payment or bank account information when I make a purchase?

No. NaskMe does not store any bank account information when you make a purchase.

Adding Photos, Messages and Locations

How do I add or delete a Photo I added to a List or Task?

A Photo can be added to a List or Task anytime you set up a List or Task by tapping Add a Photo. Once you tap Add a Photo, you are given the option of Gallery or Camera.

By authorizing NaskMe to access your Photo Gallery, you can select and attach one or more existing Photos from your Gallery. By authorizing NaskMe to access your Camera, you can take a picture and add the Photo to the List or Task. The Photo taken with your Camera in NaskMe is part of the NaskMe app and not saved to your Photo Gallery.

Who can see the Photos I add to a Task or List?

The person(s) you sent the List or Task to can see the Photos you added. If the List is subsequently shared, anyone the List is shared with can also see the Photos. And, if you sent a Task to someone as part of a Group, anyone in the Group can see the Task and Photo, too.

How do I send a Message?

Send a Message to everyone on a Shared List by tapping New Message on the bottom of a list. Once you tap New Message, you are taken to the Message screen, where you type a message into the Message box and tap Send. Once you do, the Message is sent and displayed on the Message Whiteboard. You can also tap anywhere in Messages on the List screen to see Messages.

Who can see Messages I send on a List or Task?

Anyone the List or Task is shared with. If you shared the List or Task with a Group, everyone in the Group can see the Message.

How do I add a Location to a List or Task?

A Location can be added to a List or Task anytime by tapping Add a Location. Once you do, you are taken to Maps, where you add a Location.

By authorizing NaskMe to access your Location, your current location is the default. To add a new Location, search by entering part or all of an address in the box at the top of the Maps screen. Once you find a Location you want, tap the X in the upper left-hand corner of the Map and return to the previous screen.

How many Locations can I add to a List or Task?

One.

Who can see a Location I add to a List or Task?

Anyone the List or Task is shared with. If you shared the List or Task with a Group, everyone in the Group can see the Location.

Payments

What Tasks are eligible for payment?

Any Task is eligible to have a payment attached. Be sure to set up your payment information on the Profile menu in order to use Payments.

Who is responsible for a Task-related payment once authorized?

The person who makes the payment is solely responsible.

When do I authorize payment for a Task?

Payment Alerts show up on the Alerts screen once a Task with a payment attached is marked complete.

If I authorize payment for a Task, can I later stop this payment from occurring?

Once you complete a Payment, you must contact your payment service provider directly in order to address any payment questions or concerns.

Does NaskMe store my payment or bank account information?

No. NaskMe does not store any payment or bank account information.

Creating and Managing Groups

How do I create a Group and add members?

Tap + Add New Group on the Group screen. Enter a Group name and description, then tap the Add Members icon. NaskMe will launch Contacts, and you can select each person you want to add to the Group. Once you make your selections, tap the X in the upper left-hand corner to save the Group and send invitations.

Who is the Admin of a Group?

When you create a Group, you are the designated Group Admin.

What is an Open Group?

Groups can be set up as Open or Closed. Open means anyone in the Group can add members to the Group. A Closed Group does not let anyone other than the Group Admin add new members. The Group Admin determines what kind of Group it will be (open or closed) at the time of set up.

How do I add a photo to a Group profile?

A Photo can be added when you set up a Group or after you create it. To add a Photo, tap Edit below the picture beside the Group Name. Once you tap Edit, you are given the option of Gallery or Camera.

How do I remove a Member from a Group?

Only a Group Admin can remove a Group Member. Tap the photo of the person you wish to remove, then tap to remove the Group Member.

How do I delete a Group?

Only a Group Admin can delete a Group by tapping the three-button icon in the upper right-hand corner and selecting Delete Group.

How do I remove myself from a Group?

Tap the three dots in the upper-right hand corner and tap the Leave Group icon.

Alerts

When do I receive Push Notifications?

NaskMe sends Push Notifications when a List is shared with you, when a Task is assigned to you, when a Task is completed, when you are invited to join a Group and when you have a new Message.

How frequently am I reminded I have Alerts to act on?

You are reminded about Alerts when you first receive a Notification you must act upon.

Once I act upon an Alert, what happens to it?

Up to 30 Alerts are visible on your Alerts screen.

When do Payment Alerts show up?

Payment Alerts show up on the Alerts screen once a Task with a payment attached is marked as complete.

How long do Alerts remain visible to me?

Up to 30 Alerts are visible on your Alerts screen.

Privacy and Usage Guidelines

Who is eligible to use NaskMe?

You must be at least thirteen (13) years old to be eligible to use NaskMe.

What is acceptable use of the NaskMe app?

The NaskMe Acceptable Use Policy provides detailed information regarding acceptable use of the NaskMe app.

How do I report unacceptable use of the NaskMe app?

To report unacceptable use of the NaskMe app, contact NaskMe by emailing customerservice@nask.me.

How do I block someone from sending me Lists, Tasks, Messages or Group invites?

You may block another user by selecting the Block User button on a Task or List you receive. The Blocked User screen also lets you block or unblock a user.
